Secret Wish, The Interview Series.

Words By Joey Rochert.

Hello, Secret Wish, Let’s talk about your new single, ‘Voodoo Nights’, what is the meaning?

We wanted to make a song that is a bit in the dark underworld. It is likely that the way each listener experiences this will be different. ‘Voodoo Nights’ has a seductive atmosphere that evokes the mysticism of voodoo spirits and the enigmatic world they live in. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of an enchanting and mysterious nightlife experience. Moreover, it is a journey to a realm where anything can happen.

Which artists in the current industry inspire you the most?

Kurt has a musical taste which stems from his background as a DJ in his younger years. From that point of view, he is mainly inspired by the Dance/EDM scene such as Avicii, Eric Prydz, Faithless, Swedish House Maffia, David Guetta plus more.

Heidi started singing at a very young age, was part of a number of groups, and was also active as a singer in cover bands. It goes without saying that she also has an extensive musical history and is inspired by Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren, Koven, Netsky, Alan Walker and so on.

What is the best thing about being a musician in 2023?

Anything is possible as long as you’re passionate.

Is there a certain place you often go to write? E.g. a certain room, or environment?

Ideas can come alive everywhere. Often, lyrics find their shape on the road. Simple things you see when you’re driving somewhere can be a source of inspiration. The musical part requires more structure in a settled environment.

What is your first memory of music?

Like all teenagers, we loved listening to music. We didn’t pay much attention to the lyrics, or what they sang. But as non-native English speakers, it encouraged us to learn English.

Julia Thomsen

The exuberant, upbeat movement of ‘Praying Moment (Remix)’ is uplifting, yet the meaning behind Julia’s classical portion is indenting with emotion. Furthermore, Julia created the song for her child, and the love she put into her lovely piano arrangement is evident.

Kingdumb, ‘Rave In My Bedroom’

Words By Joey Rochert.

Raver and producer, Kingdumb is bolstering his name in the modern music industry with his new release, ‘Rave In My Bedroom’.

The track is a gift that keeps on giving, with each new listen taking it further into the soul. It’s a unique release that deviates from the standard modern dance music formula. Furthermore, if you played this record in the late 1990s or early 2000s, you would have no idea it was from the future. Moreover, it draws inspiration from DNB and rave tracks that have emerged over the years previous to now.

Kingdumb

On this track, Kingdumb explores musically, and it looks that he had a lot of fun with his musical toolkit. In addition, the songwriter incorporates a high-pitched vocal lead that sounds like something from a DJ Rankin tune. It’s anticonformity, and it’s part of what makes this track so enjoyable! In addition, the record is constantly evolving, with a new shape emerging as it progresses.

The beat lengthens in the last portion, with a slew of swirling sound effects falling left, right, and centre. Additionally, the track’s finale perfectly sums up the tune with a fast flow that will prepare you to hit the latest party hall. However, one thing that sticks in mind once it ends is the spontaneous speech to text generator in the beginning. It’s random, but it works.

D•SIPAUL Releases ‘It’s No Good’

Words By Max Jordan.

D•SIPAUL rises to the top with his new release ‘It’s No Good’. It is the first track I have come across by D•SIPAUL, and I am still asking myself why? He has a delightful quality, and he stands out for all the right reasons.

‘It’s No Good’ sees the producer team up with vocalist, Freya Alley, Between them they shine like a radiant light and the hard work they have put into this release is paying off tenfold. Furthermore, it all gets underway with an electronic direction with a rising overture which greets a nail-biting rhythm with ease.

Freya then leaps forward with a mesmerising vocal performance. She sings with a heavenly tone, and she leaves an indent with genuine emotion dripping from her every word.
