Secret Wish, The Interview Series.

Interview with Kurt from Secret Wish.

Melody Of The Music Man blends nostalgic dance vibes with modern electronic energy. What inspired this unique fusion of styles?

Actually, I wrote “Melody Of The Music Man” back in 2003 that was inspired on “Children” from Robert Miles. It came to my attention at the time that instrumental music could also be a good opener for a show.

I was in the early stages of my musical creations then, where some experimenting was going on. The original version of this song ended up in the drawer for years, partly because it was not signed by a record label and there was hardly any promotion involved.

As the musical styles evolved so much, I got the idea to rework “Melody Of The Music Man”. And look now, it is finally getting the attention it deserves.

You’ve worked with Grammy-nominated mix engineer Benny Steele on this track. How did his expertise elevate the final sound?

We are so blessed that Benny Steele crossed our path. “Melody Of The Music Man” was masterfully crafted and expertly mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated Benny Steele (Pitbull, Flo Rida, David Guetta, Jason Derulo to name but a few), ensuring a polished and exhilarating listening experience.

This collaboration will certainly get a continuation.

Your music has gained strong followings in Europe and Asia. What do you think makes Secret Wish resonate so well with global audiences?

Secret Wish is mainly active in Europe, but that does not mean that overseas locations cannot be considered.

You may have noticed that we are very popular in Asia. For example, we were able to sign a licensing deal in China right away with our debut single Flick Of A Switch. Since then, the interest from those countries has never gone away.

We have already received several requests for a gig in China, but we have not confirmed this yet. If this continues to increase, there is a good chance that we will seriously consider this. Then this would immediately be the highlight.

From clubs to festivals, your music is built for the dance floor. How do you approach crafting tracks that create such a high-energy experience?

Every radio station has its own style or format. By delivering a pocketful of remixes, they all have the chance to choose the right one that fits best. It goes without saying that the strongest remixes also lift up the radio edit of the song.

We’ve realized that this is truly the right path forward, and we’re fully committed to pushing it even further. What’s especially exciting is that several collaborations, ones we once thought were out of reach, are now actually happening. It’s been both surprising and incredibly rewarding. And with every new release … more and more big names cross our path to remix our work.

With your growing success, what can fans expect from Secret Wish – any surprises in the pipeline?

Sure! We’re already working on future songs.

Secret Wish has always aimed to expand its audience across borders and express its music to an international audience. Our songs have earned airtime in several countries across Europe and Asia, landing on charts such as DDK and Cool Cuts, reached Music Week in the UK, and have been nominated for MMA and HDT awards in the genres of house, dance and trance.

We’ve discovered that this is the right path to take. And of course, we’re going to take it even to the next level.
