Lydia Singer Is Back

Words By Max Jordan.

Lydia Singer is back with a triumphant fresh delivery, ‘Lemme Know’. It is the type of track which will pick you up and lead you into a realm of feel-good with its contagious quality and a melody which cements itself deep.

Finding influence from a variety of sources, Lydia stands out with authentic character. She comes fresher than a decorators paintbrush, and her vocal is out of this world. For me, she sits close to Ariana Grande on the vocal scale, and it would not surprise me to find that Ariana plays a significant influence on her music style.

Musically, ‘Lemme Know’ is impressive. A myriad of sounds appear as it progresses, and the beat is potent, and the synth lead line is majestic.

U.S based R’n’B star B.U.d! is flying the flag for top quality soul with his new release ‘No More’.

Lock Up Yer Daughters, Girl Afraid Are Here!

Words By Ava Jordan.

Hull indie rockers Girl Afraid are taking no prisoners with their track ‘Dutch Courage’. I am slightly late to the party, but this track needs to get a review. It is on fire, and it bites with frontman ‘Sam Mellors’ singing with genuine conviction and grit which is challenging to keep at bay.

Musically, Indie has never sounded quite as potent with the band smashing through the mix with integrity. They unleash their power here, and the energy oozes out of the track, so much so it nearly kicked me off my chesterfield.

Leader Of The Pack, Sam Mellors.

It falls into a post-genre category with the group taking hints from the big hitters in Indie, but they also bring their unique vibe which stands out truly in a distinct light. So, Hull, you lucky bunch! With chaps like these echoing out of the local indie basements, it is clear why they say those who go to Hull never leave. Keep chomping lads, and keep these bangers flowing!

Julia Thomsen Releases ‘Beauty Inside And Out’

Words By Ava Jordan.

Neo-classical is a genre which I am not hugely familiar. However, I know a potent composition when I hear one, and the new release ‘Beauty Inside And Out’ by Julia Thomsen is mesmerising.

Kicking off with a piano melody, Julia instantly gets us reaching for the tissues with its sincere emotion. The piece grows as it advances with a medley of new tones popping to the forefront with a synthesiser hook captivating as it reaches for the culmination.

‘Beauty Inside And Out’ provides plenty of gravitas, and its solemn vibe paradoxically gets the feel-good emotions soaring. Also, the empowering build-up is awe-inspiring. You can take a listen to ‘Beauty Inside And Out’ by Julia Thomsen below.

Le Fil Drops Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Words By Ava Jordan.

Le Fil returns with a red hot pop track ‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’.

The singer who only recently released ‘Undercover Lover’ hits the sweet spot on this track. It follows a similar vibe to his last number, but it comes in an even more potent fashion. Kicking off the record is an infectous drum hit which captivates from the second it plays. We are then with an unforgettable vocal performance from the London based artist who sings with his heart fastened to his sleeve.

As the track progresses, we hear an elective range of sounds popping into the mix. There is a killer piano lead sitting in the background which reminds me slightly of ‘Elton John’, but yet it stays true to Le Fil, and he proves his distinction with an undeniably catchy chorus.
